The Need

No child should have to wonder where their next meal will come from, yet 1 in 4 children in North Texas experiences hunger, and Dallas County has the fifth-highest number of food-insecure children in the nation.

Hunger affects far more than an empty stomach. It impacts a child's health, development, ability to learn, and future. During the summer, when school meals are unavailable, many families struggle to replace up to ten meals per child each week.

That's why the Miller and Morris families are proud to partner with the North Texas Food Bank for the 5th Annual Families Feeding Families Food & Fund Drive on September 25. Every dollar supports the Food Bank's Nourish the Future Children's Programs, providing nutritious meals to children throughout North Texas. And our in-person food drive will benefit this year’s peanut butter drive

This year's goal is to raise $150,000 to provide 450,000 healthy meals while surpassing 1.5 million meals donated since Families Feeding Families began. Because of its purchasing power, NTFB can do much more with your $1 than you can at the grocery store. That’s one of the reasons a financial gift to Families Feeding Families can make such a difference.

Together, we can help ensure every North Texas child has the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Families Feeding Families has made a real impact, and we want to continue to grow and support NTFB with your support

Thanks to your generous support of the Families Feeding Families food and fund drive over the last four years, together we’ve helped provide more than 1,000,000 nutritious meals to children and families facing hunger. That’s an incredible achievement, but the need is still great!

Families across North Texas are continuing to struggle. Rising costs of living have made it even harder for many to afford basic necessities. Groceries alone have increased by 24% over the past five years, putting an even greater strain on household budgets.
Alarmingly, nearly half of food-insecure individuals in North Texas live above the SNAP threshold — meaning they don’t qualify for federal food assistance but still can’t make ends meet. This gap leaves many hardworking families in urgent need of support.

That’s why your help matters now more than ever.
The North Texas Food Bank’s child feeding programs play a vital role in serving our most vulnerable neighbors. With 1 in 4 children in North Texas experiencing hunger, ensuring they have access to healthy, consistent meals is essential.

The NTFB partners with more than 500 food pantries and community organizations to distribute food through a diverse feeding network. Our in-person food drive will benefit this year’s peanut butter drive.
